This contemporary remodel and addition created the opportunity to reorient the usage of the site. The original hillside home was surrounded by a paved driveway leading to the detached garage at the back of the site. The remodeling included a new attached garage and the conversion of the original garage into a guest house, which allowed the paving to be torn up and converted to landscaped yard area, integrated into the natural landscape with the use of native planting. The house and guest house are connected by a wood and steel trellis, and the green roof of the guest house is now merged into the landscape. The house was completely re-sided, and additions included a greatly expanded master bedroom, downstairs family room, and a new entry. All the interior spaces of the home were remodeled.
